Changes to Our Experience
We’re dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and flexibility for all our passengers. To that end, we’ve made some changes to our service to keep you and your loved ones safe while you travel.
We appreciate your understanding, and please know that your safety, and that of our team, continues to guide our decisions around crafting the right experience based on the current environment.

C&J customers are required to wear a face mask, or appropriate cloth face covering over their nose and mouth throughout their travel, aligning with best practice guidelines from the CDC. Plastic face shields may be used in addition to a mask but are not approved mask replacements. Any mask with an exhaust valve is not approved as an acceptable face mask for customers traveling on any C&J bus.
Our employees are wearing approved masks in our terminals and drivers are wearing masks on board while scanning tickets and interacting with customers. Drivers may remove their masks, behind the plexi-glass shield, while driving.
If a Customer is unable to wear a face covering for any reason (even a verifiable medical condition), we regret that we are unable to transport the Customer at this time, due to safety risk of asymptomatic COVID-19 transmission by Customers without face coverings. In other words, because of public health guidance recognizing the important role of face coverings in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, C&J Bus Lines will temporarily refuse to transport any passenger who is unable to wear a mask even if the Customer has a verifiable medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask.
Children under the age two are exempt from the mask requirement.
All C&J employees participate in a daily Covid-19 symptom screening and are instructed not to work if they are not feeling well. We recommend our riders monitor their health and reschedule their travel if not feeling well.
Scheduled to travel but don’t feel 100%? We ask that you reschedule your trip to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you. Once you’re feeling better, we’ll be happy to welcome you onboard.
We are blocking off seats on each motorcoach to allow extra space for riders. All coaches will have single seats available for individual travelers and double seating for those traveling together.
Our buses are equipped with state-of-the-art air filtration systems that help reduce the spread of airborne pathogens.
C&J has enhanced cleaning frequency. Commonly used surfaces in stations such as door handles, counter tops, seating areas and kiosks are cleaned with EPA-registered disinfectants. Our buses are also rigorously cleaned after each trip.
We’ve installed signage in our terminals to help passengers maintain a six-foot physical distance between them and others. There are also clear plastic barriers at customer counters.
Our terminals have all been outfitted with sanitizing stations which we strongly encourage our customers and employees to use regularly.
We have temporarily removed amenities such as bottled water, coffee, and bagels in order to decrease the spread of germs.
To reduce the risk of transmitting germs, we have eliminated valet parking services. There is free parking available at our Dover, Portsmouth, and Newburyport terminals and all parking will be self-service. Please allow extra time to park your vehicle upon arrival.

Valet Vehicle Retrieval
If you are unable to retrieve your vehicle before the close of business day Saturday, March 21, 2020. We ask that you text 603-817-5433, with a date and time you will be picking up your keys. Pickup times will be available between Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 4:00PM, by appointment only.
To reduce the spread of germs, C&J will no longer accept ID’s northbound as collateral to process payments for the trip incurred at your final destination.
All tickets must be purchased in advance of travel, either online or at one of our facilities in Portsmouth, NH or Newburyport, MA in order to board the coach.
Please know – The only locations C&J does not operate a ticket counter or have a ticketing kiosk available is Dover, NH or Logan Airport, if you do not have a ticket,you must purchase your tickets online on your phone while you wait for the coach.
We have implemented self-service ticket kiosks at our Portsmouth, Newburyport and South Station terminals to reduce contact between customers and employees. That said, we always recommend using mobile ticketing.
C&J Mobile Ticketing:
C&J makes contact-free travel easy. Riders can book, board, and check their bus status all right from their mobile device. C&J encourages boarding with mobile tickets, where our drivers scan right from your phone.

We know flexibility is important when traveling, especially now, and we have extended our ticketing policies to help our riders.
Boston Expirations Extended
We have extended our expiration date on all Logan Airport tickets, so now they are valid anytime for two years from the purchase date. South Station tickets are valid anytime within 1 year of the purchase date.
No Change fees for NYC tickets
We have eliminated change fees for NYC tickets. If you are unable to make your originally scheduled trip, contact us to change your trip at no additional cost to you! Itinerary changes must be made in advance of your trip’s departure.

Limited trips to South Station only will be available from our Dover location. This will be pick up and drop-off service only, the terminal will remain closed until further notice.
All other riders should plan to use the Portsmouth, NH terminal located at 185 Grafton Drive in Portsmouth.
Current Dover tickets will be honored for travel in Portsmouth.
