Summertime is upon New England, and there’s no better way to enjoy the warm sunshine than getting outdoors in Boston. Home to four champion sports teams, world-class museums, pristine parks and landmarks, and extensive history, Boston is the perfect destination for a day trip or a long weekend away from home.
We’ve compiled our own list of fun things to do in Boston this summer, but we’d like to hear from you, as well. Share your photos and videos from any of these events and tag us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. We’d love to see how you celebrate summer!
You can catch a bus to Boston from three different C&J terminals—Dover or Portsmouth in New Hampshire, or Newburyport, Massachusetts. Our buses are outfitted with roomy seats, a strong Wi-Fi connection, power outlets, and refreshments in the galley. So sit back, relax, and let us do the driving for you.

This summer, the North End Music & Performing Arts Center is hosting its annual Jazz in the Park concert series at the Rose Kennedy Greenway North End Park. Admission is free for everyone, so pack a picnic dinner and listen to talented jazz artists play out in the warm summer night. This series of four concerts runs over the course of July.
Concerts at Fenway Park
Fenway isn’t just known for its champion baseball team—this summer, see a concert at Fenway Park. Billy Joel, the Zac Brown Band, The Who, and Phish are all playing at this unforgettable venue. Get your tickets soon before they all sell out!

Celebrate our independence at the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular this Independence Day. The concert features both the Boston Pops Orchestra as well as famous performers, including Queen Latifa and Arlo Guthrie. The night finishes with a truly spectacular fireworks show.
Boston Pizza Festival
Do you love pizza? If so, you’ll also love the Boston Pizza Festival. There will be plenty of vendors serving up slices of their best pizza (which, by the way, is all-you-can eat), as well as beer and wine, live music and other entertainment. This year, the festival spans July 13 and 14. Tickets for this popular event are limited, so buy them soon!
Red Sox Versus Yankees at Fenway
These long-time rivals will play twice this July at Fenway Park. Get your fan gear on and cheer your favorite team to victory! Tickets will likely sell out fast, but you can still get them here for their July 25 and 28 games.
Boston Seafood Festival
Now in its eighth year, the Boston Seafood Festival is a can’t-miss celebration. There’s food (obviously), a Harpoon Brewery tent, live music, a fish cutting contest, and chef demonstrations. Support the Boston Fisheries Foundation by attending, which promotes education about sustainable fishing. This year it takes place August 4 on the Historic Boston Fish Pier.
Boston Jazz Fest
Boston loves jazz music, and so do we. The Boston Jazz Fest is a free event on August 30 and 31 located at the Boston Maritime Park in the Seaport. There will be delicious food from a variety of vendors and a lineup of talented musicians.
Whether you attend one event, or all of the above, you’re sure to have a fun-filled summer in Boston! Also, don’t forget to tag C&J Bus Lines when you share pictures and videos from these events!
