C&J Celebrates CVHS’s New Animal Shelter Construction

Jul 05, 2018

Our friends at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society recently broke ground on construction of their new facility in Dover.

Here at C&J, we are big animal lovers! We helped kickoff the fundraising efforts for the CVHS’s new animal shelter a few years back and are thrilled the construction is finally underway!

To celebrate the commencement of the shelter’s construction, we invited Cadey, a CVHS rescue dog over to meet Brooks and Cameron, C&J’s 3rd Generation of the Jalbert Family Business. Belle, our C&J office dog (also a rescue!) was there to join in the festivities too. Check out our pictures below.

We instantly fell in love with Cadey, she is a sweetheart. Now you would never know it, but Cadey was not always this happy-go-lucky pup she is today. She was rescued from CVHS, found abandoned in Dover weighing only 12 pounds. She was extremely abused, malnourished and was so weak she was unable to use her hind legs. The folks at CVHS rescued Cadey and nursed her back to health. She was adopted by one of the shelter volunteers and how lives a healthy and loving life.

The CVHS helps hundreds of animals, like Cadey, each year. We applaud them for their effort and look forward to sharing updates throughout the construction of their new facility. Learn more about the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
