Summer Traffic Advisory - Boston Sumner Tunnel Closure 7/5

Please be advised that delays should be expected on trips in and out of Boston, as current roadway are higher than normal during the summer season. While typical delays range from 15 to 30 minutes, it is important to note that traffic patterns can be unpredictable. Therefore, we strongly recommend allowing yourself extra time when planning your journey by departing earlier.

The closure of the Sumner Tunnel starting July 5th, and increased travel during summer are the primary factors contributing to the irregular traffic conditions. Our scheduled arrival times have been adjusted to more accurately accommodate these delays, but it is essential to acknowledge that traffic can still be unpredictable.

To minimize any interruptions, we suggest allowing extra time when arriving in Boston. If possible, we recommend taking your bus 30 to 60 minutes prior to your anticipated arrival time. For instance, if you plan to take the 2:00pm bus from Portsmouth to arrive at Logan at 3:30pm, we advise taking the 1:00pm bus to ensure ample time.

Please remember that Logan Airport recommends arriving 2 hours prior to domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights. Given the summer traffic, allocating more time for your journey is highly advisable.

Rest assured, the safety of our passengers remains our top priority, and we will do our utmost to minimize any unnecessary delays. Our team of trained professionals is committed to ensuring your arrival in Boston is as efficient and safe as possible.
