Avast ye matey…The tall ships will return to Portsmouth July 25 through the 29th. The festivities will begin with the parade of sail on Wednesday, July 25th which will welcome three ships into Portsmouth, the Oliver Hazard Perry, the Harvey Gamage, and the Roseway. The welcome sail will start at approximately 11:00 am at the mouth of the Piscataqua River.
The seacoast boating community is invited to participate and sail along side the ships as they are welcomed up the river into Portsmouth.
The Oliver Hazard Perry will be docked at the Sail Portsmouth headquarters at the Fish Pier on Pierce Island in Portsmouth.
The Harvey Gamage will be docked at the UNH Pier at New Castle Island offering 2-hour daily sails and sunset cruises.
The Roseway will take passengers on an all-day sail from Portsmouth to Boston. Sails depart daily from the Portsmouth Yacht Club in New Castle.
Throughout the entire weekend visitors can tour the ships or participate on daily ocean sails. Visit Sail Portsmouth for more information on daily schedules.
The proceeds from the annual Portsmouth tall ships visit support the Maritime Commission’s Sea Challenge, which provides sail training on board a tall ship to Seacoast youth.
