Fenway Park - C&J

2019 Guide to Opening Day at Fenway Park

Our defending World Series Champs, the Boston Red Sox, and American League MVP Mookie Betts will take the field for the 2019 home opener at Fenway on April 9 at 2:05pm against the Toronto Blue Jays. We’ve put together a guide for everything you need to know for Opening Day at Fenway Park:

This is the day the 2018 World Series banners will be hung at Fenway Park along with the ring ceremony! Pregame ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m., fans are asked to be in their seats by 12:45 p.m., with the game beginning at 2:05 p.m.

The pre-game ceremonies will include the unveiling of the 2018 championship banner, the presentation of the World Series rings, the raising of the 2018 championship flag, the performance of the national anthem, a fly-over, the ceremonial first pitch and the call to “Play Ball.”

Fenway Park gates open two hours before the opener. For the rest of the season, gates open 1 ½ hours before game time.

Metal detectors will screen all fans entering the ballpark. All individuals, bags, and personal items are subject to inspection before entering Fenway Park. To help expedite inspections at the gates, fans are asked to remove all phones, cameras, and other large metal objects before walking through the metal detectors.  Smaller objects, such as wallets, change, keys, jewelry, and belts are fine to keep on you.

Children are encouraged to enter through Gate K (for Kids), which will take you to the special Kids Concourse. Wally’s Clubhouse, located in the Champions Club, offers a play space for children of all ages to relax and have fun during the game. Available from the 3rd through the 7th innings, the Kids Concourse offers entertainment and kid-friendly activities including face painting, balloon artist, play area, and more.
