An unfortunate train collision near Bridgeport, CT on Friday has prompted Amtrak to suspend service between New York and New Haven, CT, indefinitely. The public railroad has also limited service between Boston and New Haven, CT, as a result of the accident.
For travelers planning to head to New York from the NH Seacoast or Boston by rail, this could mean a quick change of travel plans. If your travel plans were affected, we’d like to remind you that C&J provides a convenient, comfortable option for travel to New York City from both Portsmouth, NH and Tewksbury, MA with two daily round trips Sunday through Friday and one round trip Saturday.
Our daily, direct service from Portsmouth to New York’s Port Authority leaves at 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. during the week, and our executive-class, non-stop service from Tewksbury (just 30 minutes from the Amtrak Station in Boston) leaves at 7:20 a.m. and 1 p.m. See our full New York bus schedule here.
Each of C&J’s executive-class coaches feature specially-modified seating (just 30 seats compared to the industry standard of 55), leather seats, free Wi-Fi, and refreshments while free parking is available at both our Portsmouth and Tewksbury locations.
Tickets start at just $39.95 from our Tewksbury location–a special introductory fare through June 15. Travelers can book bus tickets online here.
